Ingredients

For dough:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • Water (as needed)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp oil

For filling:

  • 3 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1–2 green chilies, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • ½ tsp red chili powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • ½ tsp amchur (dry mango powder) or lemon juice
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped

For cooking:

  • Butter or ghee

Instructions

1. Make the dough

  1. Mix flour, salt, and oil.
  2. Add water gradually and knead into a soft dough.
  3. Cover and rest for 15 minutes.

2. Prepare filling

  1. Mix mashed potatoes with all spices, chilies, and coriander.
  2. Ensure filling is dry and well combined.

3. Shape parathas

  1. Divide dough into equal balls.
  2. Roll one ball into a small circle.
  3. Place filling in the center and seal edges.
  4. Gently roll into a flat paratha.

4. Cook

  1. Heat a tawa or pan.
  2. Cook paratha on both sides until golden spots appear.
  3. Apply butter or ghee while cooking.
