Perfect for a quick dinner, meal prep or whenever you're in the mood for bold Asian flavours. Serve it with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal!

Ingredients:

  • 500g boneless chicken, sliced into bite-sized pieces
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • ⅓ cup soy sauce
  • ⅓ cup water
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce (optional)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Method:

  1. Coat the chicken pieces with cornstarch until evenly covered.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and fry the chicken until golden brown and crispy. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté garlic and ginger until fragrant.
  4. Add soy sauce, water, brown sugar, hoisin sauce, and sesame oil. Stir well and simmer for 2–3 minutes.
  5. Return the crispy chicken to the pan and toss until fully coated in the sauce.
  6. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds.
  7. Serve hot with steamed rice or noodles.
