Chilli Paneer Recipe

Ingredients
For paneer:
- 250 g paneer, cubed
- 2 tbsp cornflour
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (maida)
- Salt to taste
- Water (to make batter)
- Oil for shallow frying
For sauce:
- 1 onion, cubed
- 1 capsicum, cubed
- 2–3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1–2 green chilies, chopped
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp chili sauce
- 1 tbsp tomato ketchup
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 1 tsp cornflour mixed with 3 tbsp water (slurry)
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Spring onions for garnish
Instructions
- Mix cornflour, maida, salt, and water to make a thick batter. Coat paneer cubes in it.
- Heat oil and shallow fry paneer until golden and crispy. Set aside.
- In a pan, heat oil and sauté garlic and green chilies.
- Add onions and capsicum, stir-fry for 2–3 minutes (keep them slightly crunchy).
- Add soy sauce, chili sauce, ketchup, vinegar, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
- Pour in cornflour slurry and cook until sauce slightly thickens.
- Add fried paneer and toss well to coat in sauce.
- Cook for 1–2 minutes and turn off heat.
