Ingredients:
- 1 whole fish (sea bass, tilapia, or snapper), cleaned
- 2-inch piece ginger, julienned
- 3 spring onions, sliced into thin strips
- 2 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp hot vegetable oil
- Fresh coriander for garnish (optional)
Method:
- Pat the fish dry and make a few shallow cuts on both sides.
- Place half of the ginger inside the fish and the remaining ginger on top.
- Arrange the fish on a heatproof plate suitable for steaming.
- Steam over boiling water for 10–15 minutes, depending on the size of the fish.
- Carefully remove any excess liquid from the plate.
- Scatter the spring onions over the fish.
- Drizzle soy sauce and sesame oil evenly over the fish.
- Heat the vegetable oil until very hot and carefully pour it over the spring onions and fish.
- Garnish with coriander and serve immediately with steamed rice.
