Ingredients:

  • 500g bok choy
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • ¼ cup water or vegetable stock
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Method:

  1. Wash the bok choy thoroughly and trim the ends if needed.
  2. Bring a pot of water to a boil and blanch the bok choy for 1–2 minutes until bright green and tender-crisp. Drain well.
  3. Arrange the bok choy on a serving plate.
  4. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the garlic until fragrant.
  5. Add oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar, water, and sesame oil. Stir well and simmer for 1–2 minutes.
  6. Pour the sauce evenly over the bok choy.
  7. Garnish with sesame seeds if desired.
  8. Serve hot as a side dish with steamed rice, noodles, or your favorite Asian meal.
