Ingredients:

  • 1 medium Chinese cabbage (Napa cabbage), shredded
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2–3 dried red chillies, chopped
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 spring onion, chopped
  • Sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Method:

  1. Wash and shred the Chinese cabbage into thin strips.
  2. Heat oil in a wok or large pan over high heat.
  3. Add garlic and dried red chillies and stir-fry until fragrant.
  4. Add the shredded cabbage and stir-fry for 3–4 minutes.
  5. Add soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and salt. Toss well to combine.
  6. Continue cooking until the cabbage is tender yet slightly crisp.
  7. Garnish with chopped spring onions and sesame seeds.
  8. Serve hot as a side dish or with steamed rice.
